My name is Bernard Vukas and I've been working from home as a remote contractor since January 2008. I specialize building solutions and add-ins based on Microsoft Office. My home office is located in Zagreb, Croatia.

Freelancing happened when I was looking for work and @zokiboy recommended oDesk. I also have experience with other freelancing websites (Elance and Guru), and I sum up my experiences in this article. I am not looking for a full-time job, and I make 100% of my income with freelancing projects.

• Prior to becoming a full-time freelancer I worked in a management consulting firm, teaching workshops on business planning.
• I love freelancing and tweeting about it.
• I'm exploring the location independent lifestyle as a digital nomad.
• I am away from home on travels 6 months per year.
• I don't read or buy any newspapers or magazines. I don't own or watch TV.
• I'm a fan of home fitness. I have fun with P90X and Insanity at home, on my travels, or with friends.
• Althouth I mostly use VBA and VB, my background is C and C++.
• I study for the CFA charter.
